4 Questions for Grant Hood CFO of GO! Productions

September 7, 2011

Q1. How did you get into your line of work?
After I graduated from the University of West Georgia with an  Rightrail_GRANT_hood
accounting degree I went to work as a financial auditor at one of the top accounting firms in Atlanta. Although accounting has always been one of my passions, after 5 years of auditing, I was looking for a change and took a job in the private sector to run the accounting department for a local event production company, GO! Productions.

Working as the CFO at GO! Productions allows me to stay active with accounting practices but also provides the financial creativity to help grow our business, by finding cost saving solutions that allow our company to grow, esp. during a rough economy.

Q2. What have you learned through the school of hard knocks?
I have learned that Operations is the center of any business, and although accounting is a critical arm it is not the driving force to grow a company. Accounting needs to be able to work within the parameters of operations needs, not setting boundaries for operations or our greater business.

Q3. What keeps you up at night?
I find myself staying up thinking about my To-Do list because there really are so many things to do when you are running a business.

Q4. How has helped your business chase its dreams? has helped GO! Productions streamline our entire vendor approval and payment process. Prior to we had a high volume of emails sent out for details and approval. That all changed when we automated with I love, they have been one of the biggest game changers for GO!, making our business more efficient, improving our workflow and seamlessly integrating with our accounting software. has become an important tool for both our vendors and for us internally.
